Is it necessary to subscribe to a private health Insurance plan.

Depending where you live, you may have to subscribe to a health Insurance plan.

For example, in Canada there is a national health program and in some province drug insurance plan so there is not a need for this type of insurance, unless you want to have first class service in case of need.

Say you want a private room and a private nurse in hospital, the national health plan will not pay for that.

You then will have to subscribe personal insurance for that.

The national health plan in Canada is paid by income taxes, as a result, income taxes are much higher in Canada than in the United States for example where there is no national health plan.

The Canadian national health plan not only covers hospitalization, but visits to the doctor's office also.

Private plan.

Where there is no national plan, hope that your employer subscribes to a private health plan.
Usually the employer and employees both pay their part for these private health plans.

If you have neither national nor private plan, your way out is subscribing to a personal plan that can be very costly.
Just in case, think about saving for emergency.
