Your business

Should you get your credit report?

Did it append to you to be turned down by a credit card company ? If so, you have bad rating experience or something went wrong with one or more rating report company.

If your history is good, you pay your bills on time, you respect all conditions on your different loans like mortgage , car loan, line of credit .

You did not cheat on insurance claims.

You are not in court or have not been convicted for any major offences.

Your report from the different agencies should be good.

If you are ever turned down by a card company, a Bank or Credit Union, Insurance Company , it may be time to check your report with one or more of the agencies.

You may not be at fault.

Maybe someone has goofed or one of your loaner was a bit strict.
Do not hesitate to have a good talk with people concerned and have your report corrected.

In some countries, like the United States you are entitled one free report per year from the 3 major rating company, Equifax, TransUnion and Experian.
Else where you may have to pay a small amount to see your rating.
It is also very useful to know your rating when you are about to contract a loan, buy life insurance , get a new card and so on.

You can even be denied a job if your rating is bad.

If there are major errors in your report, have it updated before you go further. This will save you much trouble.
Most loaners will rely on those reports unless you have been doing business with them for long and that they know you well.
Sometimes even then, they will check reports just to see if everything is as it should be elsewhere.

Keep your records clean.
